Verve Forecast & Focus Features have announced the premiere vinyl release of the soundtrack album for the 2005 drama Brokeback Mountain directed by Ang Lee and starring Heath Ledger, Jake Gyllenhaal, Anne Hathaway and Michelle Williams. The album, which is being released to coincide with the movie’s 20th anniversary, features the film’s Academy Award-winning original score and songs (performed by Emmylou Harris, Teddy Thompson & Mary McBride) composed by Gustavo Santaolalla (The Last of Us, Babel, The Motorcycle Diaries, The Book of Life, August: Osage County), as well as songs by Willie Nelson, Rufus Wainwright & others. The vinyl edition, which is housed in a deluxe gatefold jacket and includes a 16-page booklet featuring rare photos from the film’s production, will be released in number of unique color variants on September 19. Brokeback Mountain will return to theaters beginning with special showings June 22 & 25 and is now also available on VOD, 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD.
